Hey, at least you’re not as old as this guy.
UPDATE: Whoops… maybe I should’ve held off on making fun of my dad today, since he wound up in the emergency room for a while. I’ll spare you the details (instead, I’ll link to this), but after a long day, he eventually made it home and felt good enough for a visit so he could open his presents. Unfortunately though, that wasn’t all of the bad news for today – Stefy was diagnosed with strep throat, so she’s home recuperating right now. Yikes! I hope my old man and my girl are feeling better soon.
I think the overall verdict is that Saturday was basically a perfect summer day – I did some canvassing for work with Tom in the morning, got to spend time out at the lake with Stef’s family later in the afternoon, had a wonderful meal with the Spiro clan (plus my dad and Sherry) that evening, and enjoyed a fabulous concert at Pine Knob. Here are some pictures from the Police concert:

As you can see, we enjoyed ourselves
I’m too tired/lazy to write much right now, but we had another wonderful weekend at Stef’s cousin Anne and Mike’s wedding shower. Here are a few pictures from the festivities:

After working more than ten and a half hours today (with about five minutes of down time), I’m going to dispense with the usual weekend update and just post photos from our 4th of July weekend at the cottage. Lots of fun was had by all:

Okay, so I’ve been sitting on these for the better part of a week, but better late than never. Here are a few photos from Morgan’s last softball game of the year:

She didn’t have the best performance of her four-game career, but her team still won the game, meaning they were able to finish out the season with a perfect 10-0 record.
Not only did my sister’s team destroy the competition tonight by a humiliating margin of 11-0, but “Little Morgan” (as she is called to differentiate from the older, “Big Morgan” on the team) got a hit on her first at-bat!
I was all ready to walk around to the other side of the diamond to take a picture of her at the plate, when she smacked one past the pitcher and out-ran the throw to first base.
A couple more hits by her teammates brought her in for a run, which is pretty impressive for a first game. I did manage to snap this photo of Morgan at first base, just before she took off for second.

Here’s Morgan and her friend, Ellie (sorry for the blur):

And here’s one of Kyra looking stylish on the sidelines:

After a single game, Morgan is batting 1.000, and has already matched 50% of my career hit total.
This kid is clearly bound for bigger and better things.
