Three days off in a row? I hardly know what to do with myself.
Of course, I spent most of the morning yesterday doing work anyway, but I’m determined to be as lazy as humanly possible over the next 48 hours.
Unfortunately, I don’t think that plan is going to work out so well.
I’m having lunch with Paul and Rochelle at noon today, then driving straight to the Pohl party down in Michigan Center.
I’ll hang out there for a couple hours, then come back home to spend the evening with my mom and Dan, who will be staying at my place tonight on their way back to Ohio.
I’m looking forward to seeing everyone, but today won’t exactly be relaxing. Guess I’ll have to be twice as lazy tomorrow.
It was quite a week for the Pohl family: Dad wound up in the emergency room, Stef came down with strep, and my cousin Jennifer got in a car accident. Thankfully, everyone is okay, but here’s hoping August gets off on the right foot.
Hey, at least you’re not as old as this guy.
UPDATE: Whoops… maybe I should’ve held off on making fun of my dad today, since he wound up in the emergency room for a while. I’ll spare you the details (instead, I’ll link to this), but after a long day, he eventually made it home and felt good enough for a visit so he could open his presents. Unfortunately though, that wasn’t all of the bad news for today – Stefy was diagnosed with strep throat, so she’s home recuperating right now. Yikes! I hope my old man and my girl are feeling better soon.
I’ve been spending a lot of time in “The Creek” this week with the campaign (basically Tuesday-Saturday). It’s been exciting and tiring at the same time, but I’m definitely looking forward to a block of more than two days when I can consistently sit down and eat dinner before 9 p.m.
On a totally unrelated note, my cousin Brian was featured in the LSJ today talking about his campaign for Ingham County Commission (District 3). You can read it here. Check out Brian’s website here.
Okay, so I’ve been sitting on these for the better part of a week, but better late than never. Here are a few photos from Morgan’s last softball game of the year:

She didn’t have the best performance of her four-game career, but her team still won the game, meaning they were able to finish out the season with a perfect 10-0 record.
