I knew from the beginning that this would be another “sit on my ass and do nothing” kind of weekend, so I decided to embrace it right from the start and went to Best Buy on Friday night to pick up the fifth season of Sopranos to help pass the time.
Except when I got there I found out that the set was tagged at $84, which I knew was a load of crap because I had checked before leaving the house and I knew it was available on their website for only $56. So I said screw it and went to Target instead, where they had it for $50.
That little shopping trip was probably the most eventful hour and half of the entire weekend.
I came home that night and plowed through the first three episodes, before finally cashing in for the day at around 1 a.m.
Saturday got off to an equally pathetic start when I didn’t eat “breakfast” until 11:30, which consisted of some leftover pizza from the night before. In my own defense though it was already too late in the morning for something more reasonable, like cereal.
I eventually got up and around in time to go watch the MSU-Wisconsin game at my dad’s house. After getting my heart broken by those pesky badgers and the whole officiating debacle, I didn’t feel like doing anything else besides going home and watching more Sopranos episodes that night. So that’s exactly what I did.
Today was actually somewhat productive, since I managed to clean the apartment for the first time in weeks. Aside from that it was just more of the same today… lots of time to veg.
I’m not exactly sure what to expect at this point from the week ahead. There was talk last Friday of long session days on Wednesday and Thursday this week (the last days before spring break), but I don’t know anything for sure yet. Stefy is supposed to be coming into town at some point, but I’m not exactly sure which day it’ll be (either Wednesday or Thursday, most likely). Next weekend we’re going to her house to spend some time there for Easter, and my mom and Dan will be coming over for the big family dinner on Sunday on their way home to Ohio, so that should be nice.
A week from tomorrow I’m hoping to take the day off work so Stef and Teri and I can go start making the rounds for various wedding planning visits. Again, I’m not exactly sure what’s on the agenda, but I’m sure we’ll have fun. August 2009 will be here before we know it, so it’s time to start putting the wheels in motion.
Better soak up the lazy weekends while I can.
