Tonight we all got dressed up and went downtown to see Monty Python’s Spamalot at the Ohio Theatre. I’ve been to some pretty ornate venues before — we saw more than a few in London — but this joint was pretty spectacular. I guess they just finished some pretty extensive renovations, and if shows. The place is gorgeous.
On, yeah… The play. I’ve seen Life of Brian and The Meaning of Life, but I’d only seen a few clips from The Holy Grail. Consequently I can’t really say how much the stage production deviates from the film, but this show was a riot. It kept the whole Monty Python sensibility but added a few modern twists that helped keep things fresh. The performers were great, and for someone like me who isn’t a diehard fan of showtunes, I thoght all the songs were hysterical. I
I know Spamalot is coming to Wharton next year, so if you can get your hands on tickets, I highly recommend picking some up.
Anyway, it was a really fun night out on the town, so many thanks to my mom and Dan for taking us.

FYI, it’ll be at Wharton Center December 4-9, not next year. Sounds like fun!
