msu hoops: now they count

morgan-chi-st.jpgOkay, now the games actually count, so I’m glad the Spartoons mopped the floor with Chicago State. As they should. But I think the best news from last night’s game is Raymar Morgan’s “beastly” performance:

In a performance that coach Tom Izzo called “possessed” and might also be described as “beastly,” Morgan had career highs with 25 points and 15 rebounds in No. 12 MSU’s 86-53 romp over Chicago State at Breslin Center. He and the rest of the Spartans looked completely different - as in, much better - than they had in two exhibition games.

That’s exactly what I want to hear. Raymar had a better freshman year than Maurice Ager and Shannon Brown, so I’ll expect more “beastly” performances from him in the future.
