Well, I can already tell you that I’m going to have a pretty killer birthday this week. Stefy and I will be seeing the one and only Stevie Wonder at Meadow Brook with her folks on Wednesday. As you can imagine, I’m pretty psyched for my second once-in-a-lifetime concert of the summer (the Police was the other one).
Anyway, in preparation for Wednesday’s show, here are the top five songs I want to hear Stevie play:
1. Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours
2. Don’t You Worry ‘Bout a Thing
3. Uptight (Everything’s Alright)
4. Higher Ground
5. Sir Duke
Honorable Mention: Happy Birthday
Here’s an old, grainy video of Stevie performing Signed, Sealed, Delievered I’m Yours. Enjoy!

I agree with “signed, sealed…”, but I have some others I’d like to hear too
1. “I believe (when I fall in love it will be forever)”
2. “for once in my life”
3. “if you really love me”
4. “I was made to love her”
5. “isn’t she lovely?”
just goes to show, there are so many to choose from!
I can’t wait!!
Nice choices. “I believe (when I fall in love it will be forever)” always makes me think of High Fidelity now.
First, I’m so deeply jealous that I could retch.
“Higher Ground” is absolutely killer (and man, the Red Hot Chili Peppers cover is hott). The gaping hole in your lists: “Superstition!” The single funkiest song EVAH! (and yet another truly hot cover, thanks to Stevie Ray Vaughn).
I’d have to include “My Cherie Amour,” “You Are The Sunshine Of My Life,” and “As”.
And if he sings “Happy Birthday” on your birthday, well…the heavens truly are watching over you!
Well, I just figured Superstition would be automatic.
well sweetie, you were 4/5 and I was 2/5… and that’s how it should have been on your day
