Well, last night’s Guster concert at the State Theater Fillmore Detroit was a lot of fun, but the castoffs from “So You Think You Can Dance” who were flailing about in front of us put a bit of a damper on the show. These kids had apparently just graduated from the Elaine Benes school of dance.
Anyway, I thought the setlist was great, but Stef and I agreed that there were a few glaring omissions; Fa Fa and Two Points for Honesty being the ones I missed the most.
Overall the band sounded great. If anything, I thoght they played better than they did at MSU when we saw them last year — the guys really tore it up on a few songs.
Of course, this was part of the problem. I don’t know if it’s just the acoustics in that arena, or if they had the speakers cranked louder than normal, but there were a few songs towards the end of the night that surpassed the pain threshhold for me. My ears are still ringing nearly twelve hours later.
So, on the whole, it was a really fun evening, but a few annoyances brought the show down a notch or two in my book.

Dude… I wish I could’ve gone… I love Guster. You can always thank your boy for introducing you to good ol’ Guster.
Hey, I always give you credit when people ask how I heard about Guster.
