As Betty Pohl would say, it’s hotter than blue blazes out there today! Hoo-ahh! It’s 92º in Lansing right now, and we’re on our way to a high of 99º today. Holy hell, it’s hot!
To everyone out there without air conditioning, I feel for ya. My mom and I never had AC in our old house in Holt, and I don’t know how we survived some of those hot summer nights. In fact, even though my old apartment had two AC units in it, I never really benefitted from either of them; one was in my best friend’s asshole former roommate’s room and he always kept the door shut, and the other was way in the living room where the cool air never seemed to find its way back to my bedroom.
Needless to say, I’m very thankful for the air conditioning unit in my new apartment. I can crank that baby as much as I want, and the electric bill is still a fraction of what I used to pay in Okemos. There’s also a lot of shade around my windows to help block the sun.
Of course, I have to endure the sweltering heat whenever I’m in my car since the AC unit is broken, but I think I can handle the seven minute commute. Ah, well. Stay cool out there, people!
